Sustainable Value Creation
Nan Shan Sustainable Development Framework
Nan Shan Life’s Corporate Sustainability Committee is a functional committee under the Board of Directors, chaired by the Chairman, with independent directors serving as committee members providing oversight. The committee’s primary responsibilities include executing ESG-related decision-making and approving annual sustainability targets. To enhance the committee’s effectiveness, starting in 2024, the committee convenes quarterly and reports sustainability performance directly to the Board of Directors. In addition, the Company has established the Sustainable Innovation and Development Department as the dedicated department for advancing sustainability, with the Department Head serving as a designated role below the C-suite level, responsible for driving the planning and execution of the company’s sustainability strategy to ensure effective implementation.

To continuously uphold stakeholder rights and interests, the Committee places strong emphasis on incorporating ESG factors into the Company’s management policies and operational activities, ensuring a balance between sustainable operations and profitability. Under the Corporate Sustainability Committee, Nan Shan Life has established seven ESG Execution Teams, each led by the President, and structured according to ESG issue areas: Responsible Investment Team, Corporate Governance Team, Client Care Team, Employee Welfare Team, Community Participation Team, Environmental Conservation Team, and Agent Relationship Team. These teams are responsible for focusing on, planning, executing, and monitoring ESG-related topics within their respective areas in accordance with the principle of materiality. The Company actively engages stakeholders through its corporate website and multiple communication channels to understand their reasonable expectations and needs, and ensures timely and appropriate responses to material sustainability issues of concern. Progress and outcomes are reported quarterly to the Corporate Sustainability Committee.
